Before starting or servicing any electric arc welder, read and understand all instructions.NOTE: Note means any additional information pertaining to the product or its proper usage.Īlways keep a fire extinguisher accessible while performing arc welding operations. Call 1-800- 746-5641 to purchase conversion kit (WT600400AJ) for WF2000.Īll welding accessories for the welder are inside the wire feed compartment. The WF1800 and WF1900 are NOT convertible to MIG gas usage. Welding operations may continue when the yellow lamp is no longer illuminated. A yellow lamp is illuminated on the front panel (on/off switch) if the duty cycle is exceeded. Internal components of this welder are protected from overheating with an automatic thermal switch. For example, at a 10% duty cycle, actual welding can occur for one minute, then the welder must cool for nine minutes. Welder duty cycle is the percentage of actual weld time that can occur in a ten minute interval. Welders are configured for DCEN, direct current electrode negative. As delivered from the factory, this welder can weld with. This welding system is designed for use with the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) process. Internal components are thermostatically protected. The WF2000 is equipped with infinite wire speed control to accurately select the proper wire feed rate needed for various welding conditions. let it cool for 5 min.THis may not be a concern but don't expect to take on anything real big with it.The Campbell Hausfeld WF1800, WF1900 and WF2000 are 70 amp, single phase 115 volt input, wire feed arc welding machines. One other thing look at the duty cycle on that welder it should say either on the machine or in the paperwork that came with it,more than likely it has a low dutycycle rating.Duty cyle is based on a 10min time period if it is rated at say 50% duty cyle that means out of that 10 min. CO2 works fine too and is alot cheaper and is good for really thin material which would be good for a beginner.Īlso if it came with one of those facesheilds that you got to hold with one hand toss that thing and get a good welding helmet you'll need both hands cause you got to be steady to get a good looking weld,at least until you get good at it. I prefer the C25 it will give you less spatter and tends to run a tad hotter than straight CO2,it is also more expensive. You will have 2 gases to choose from when you get ready C25 was already mentioned 75% argon+25% CO2. Thanks in advance for the help.ĭefinatly ditch the fluxcore before welding on any body panels like said before the gasless fluxcore sucks. It will be ok to practice your technique with and getting familiar with how it all works. Then when your ready to set it up for gas go get some. After I learn how to use it I going to get some scrap metal and see what I can do. What is the defferince? It did'nt come with a starter spool of MIG wire just flux wire.I looked for a knob or switch that says "Polarity" on it and I did'nt find one. It says this, "To change between flux wire and MIG wire the polarity must be changed". Can I assume that I can weld with it by just plugging it in? I already fed the wire through the hose to the gun and out about a 1/4 of an inch, thats what thet said to do it was perty easy. It looks like a jumper cable, what is it? It dont give real good directions on the welding with electric but it do's with the bottle. What is "Flux" and can you use "Flux" to weld like, body panels? Theirs this thing that they call a "work clamp" it looks like some kind of ground to me. It came with a starter spool of Flux wire. Ok,I can plug it into a regular home outlet to use it and it also has a way for me to use gas, like something called argon and some others but if I can get buy without useing gas that would be cool. Ive never used a welder before so I dont know what any of this means.
